Always good to be in awe! Humbling!

I have always had difficulties with who is in charge of horrific disasters, where nature is involved. If God is the deciding factor, then why does he let bad things occur, if nature is in charge, then not much we can do about it, unless humankind who is made in Gods image, is in charge, then we are still in a whole lot of trouble. I struggle! Shabbat Shalom! ✡️Hugs and love ❤️Zeta

The eternal struggle! I tend to think God isn't active in the goings on of the world and the responsibility is ours to deal with it to the best of our limitations.

Enjoyed this, but it does make remind one how human-centric the m'farshim were. I mean, of course, but also: Did they ever wonder if humans might not be the end-all, be-all center of hakadosh baruch hu's focus?

I actually think they did and the times when they were worried about the response to their comments, they use nature as a safer stand-in than directly targeting humanity.

Oh, that’s interesting. Is that your theory or do others share it?
