Another wonderful, meaningful, and relevant dvar Torah. Thank you. And (my vav), I like everything that you wrote.

But (the anti-vav) with one exception. I happen to disagree strongly with the Adam Grant paragraph. Yes, it used to be that people sent messages to say hello in a bygone time. There is less of that these days. When someone sends a message to me (friend, family, client, business associate), I answer as soon as reasonably possible, even if I am overwhelmed. And (here's the vav again) if I am overwhelmed, it may simply be ("I'm swamped. I'll get back to you next week" or whatever). To me, that is a sign of respect to the person which is a very important part of a friendship or any relationship. I respect that you took the time to say hello or have a concern or need or whatever, and I want to let you know where I am right now. To thank the person or help out in a problem, but perhaps instead to say I can't physically get to it now, but I got your message and I'm thinking of you. So, sorry, Adam, but I disagree with you.

But (the anti-vav, again) let's not dwell on that. My 2 shekels. A wonderful, meaningful dvar Torah.

Shabbat Shalom,

Marc
